Emily Chenet Guidry family papers, 1722-2006 (bulk 1940-1958).

Collection consists of family records, research files, genealogy charts, printed items, and family photographs relating to the genealogy of the Chenet and related families, and to the history of St. James and St. John the Baptist parishes. Material includes correspondence, personal papers, diaries, and newspaper clippings. Correspondence also reflects life in rural Louisiana, and the activities of two young women during World War II while they attended St. Mary's Dominican College in New Orleans and Southwestern Louisiana Industrial Institute in Lafayette, La. Family photographs include cabinet cards, cartes-de-visite, and tintypes.
